Schengen Visa (Type C - Short stay)

The documents MUST be submitted with the application. The embassy does not accept these documents to be sent by post/fax/e-mail to the embassy after the application has been submitted

All documents must be submitted in Original or certified copy

All documents must be submitted with a certified English or Norwegian translation.

Please note that the embassy may ask for additional documentation if needed. Failure to provide requested documentation may lead to rejection

The handling time for an application for a Schengen visa (type C) that is being processed by the Embassy is approximately 2 weeks. The application must be submitted at latest 15 days before the planned travel, and no more than 3 months before the planned travel.

NOTE! If urgent business-visa processing is needed, the application MUST be registered online. Please see more information about this under Visa Application Online. Applications submitted in paper will not be given priority, and the case handling time is then 14 days also for business purposes.

Travel insurance and flight reservation must be submitted together with the application. If you do not wish to submit your original documents to the embassy, then please be sure that you have enclosed the photocopies for your documents. The embassy would not be taking photocopies for you during your applicaton. So, it is kindly adviced that you should have your copies with you.  

The embassy advise applicants to only book and not purchase flight tickets upfront. Please note that the embassy is not responsible for any expenses in connection with insurance or purchased flight tickets in case of rejection.

Please note that as a general rule an extension of the visa  is not granted after entering Norway unless unforeseen circumstances outside the applicant`s and reference`s control arise which mean that the applicant has a genuine need to extend the stay.

 

Please be aware that only those who has documented previous travels to Norway or the Schengen area and has documented a need for several entries may be granted a multiple entry visa.
