When you have been granted a residence permit from UDI

The embassy will contact you when we receive the decision from UDI. You must then bring a valid passport to the embassy within the visiting hours. The embassy will normally issue a D-visa the same day, which will be ready for pick up at 16:00. After entering Norway you must contact the local police district within 7 days.

Appeal procedure

Only the applicant him/herself, or the power of atterney may appeal in case of refusal. An appeal must be submitted within three weeks. The appeal should be sent by post to the embassy marked "Appeal-Visa". If a power of atterney is appealing on behalf of the applicant, the power of atterney must be submitted with the appeal. The appeal must contain reference-number or personal details of the applicant.

If you appeal on a decision made by the embassy, the embassy can either reverse its decision or forward the appeal to UDI. UDI will then make the final decision as to whether or not a visa shall be granted. For processing times at UDI for appeal cases, please click here.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

There are visa agents in operation close to the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ankara. Please be informed that any decision to use the service of a visa agent is entirely at the applicant's discretion. However, it is important to note that these agents are in no way whatsoever connected to the Embassy and that they have no influence whatsoever over the outcome of an application. It is also important to note that some of the visa agents charge an unreasonably high fee for services which are not deemed necessary to submit an application. The Embassy has also experienced that certain visa agents help applicants fabricate information and documentation in order to increase the chance of being granted a visa. We strongly advise applicants not to use visa agents who offer to fabricate information in connection with a visa or residence application as it will lead to a rejection by the Embassy if the information submitted is false. If any visa agents say that they can influence your application we urge you to immediately inform the Norwegian Embassy.
