The third Drammen Sacred Music Festival will be held 26th – 30th September. This year’s theme is ‘transformations’ and the aim of the festival is to create a meeting place for local, national and international artists.
The Turkish band Gevende will be playing concerts 27th and 28th September. Their music is difficult to categorize, but is often described as ‘folk rock’ or ‘psychedelic folk’. They get their inspiration from encounters with different cultures and in September 2006 they went for a musical journey through Iran, Pakistan, India and Nepal where they shared their music with local artists.
