The preliminary results of a Norwegian-led study in Guinea indicate that the first effective Ebola vaccine may have been successfully developed. ‘An effective vaccine would be a significant breakthrough in the fight against Ebola, and would be invaluable for the affected countries and the international community as a whole,’ said Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende. MILF handed over 75 high-power firearms to the Independent Decomissioning Body 16 June.

16 June marked an important step forward in the peace process between the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Government. MILF turned over 75 arms to the Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB). Both Turkey and Norway plays important roles in the facilitative and monitoring work of IDB. Read more

EFTA and Turkey are negotiating an updated free trade agreement.

EFTA and Turkey held the third negotiation rounds regarding their free trade agreement in Ankara the 1st – 4th of June. The free trade agreement with Turkey is from 1992 and is EFTA’s oldest agreement. Read more
