As a preparation for the high season, the four Nordic embassies invited to a successful meeting in Antalya on Thursday 29th of April. Information and experiences were shared amongst the participants, who were mostly representatives from tour operators, the travel insurance business, the Nordic consulates and –embassies.
A fruitful discussion
At first, each of the Nordic embassies briefly presented themselves. They informed on consular rules and procedures, for instance on what to do in case of theft and loss of passports. In dialog with all the present, other relevant issues were addressed as well.
Ten Nordic tour operators were invited to the seminar, while the insurance industry was represented by SOS International from Copenhagen and Euro-Center Istanbul. A representative from Antalya Police gave a speech and answered questions.
60 met for coffee and chat in the church
On the next day, The Norwegian Embassy continued its trip to eastwards to Alanya, to meet with the Norwegian community there.
In cooperation with the Norwegian Church Abroad, the embassy had invited to a meeting on Friday evening. The embassy was pleased to see that about 60 Norwegians came for coffee, cake and information.
Embassy Attaché Laila Ranheim Sakizcicegi gave information relevant to the local Norwegian community. A representative from Alanya Municipality’s Foreigners Comity presented himself and the comity’s work. On behalf of the local government, he expressed their willingness to assist their new Alanya citizens as best as they can.
The Norwegian Embassy concludes that also this year the Nordic seminar turned out to be a success.
