First official visit to Antalya and Alanya

Last updated: 30/01/2012 // From January 23 to Wednesday 25 Ambassador Janis Bjørn Kanavin payed his first official visit to Antalya and Alanya as Norway’s Ambassador to Turkey. During the days in the southern parts of Turkey, he had several meetings with Mayors, Governors, Honorary Consuls and the Norwegian Community in Alanya.

Tuesday January 24, Ambassador Kanavin met the Mayor of Antalya, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Akaydin(see article here.) and later with a meeting with the Governor of Antalya, Dr. Ahmet Altiparmak i Antalya (see pictures here)

Wednesday January 25, Ambassador Kanavin had a meeting with Deputy Mayor of Alanya Mr. Kemal Dere (see pictures here) and later with the Deputy Governor of Alanya, Muhittin Pamuk (see pictures here)

The same evening, the Ambassador participated in a meeting in the Norwegian Church in Alanya. The Norwegian community in Alanya is growing rapidly, and around 110 people attended the meeting in the church Wednesday evening. The Ambassador exchanged views with the participants on Norway’s interests in Turkey, and Attaché Laila Ranheim Sakızçiçeği was able to inform the participants about recent developments with regard to Turkish social security and other matters of interest.
