How can I apply for a residence permit to visit children?

The Embassy requires personal appearance when application shall be submitted. This means that the applicant will have to appear in person at the Embassy.

The Embassy does not accept applications sent by mail or post.

Applications can not be handed in at the norwegian consulates.

 

When can I apply for a residence permit to visit children?

You can submit your visa application at the Embassys visa section for the following opening hours:

Monday-Thursday: 09.00-12.00

 

When can I call the visa reception?

How much must I pay in case processing fee?

The handling fee is 880  YTL.

The handling fee should be paid cash to the Embassy when submitting the application.

 

Which supporting documents must be handed in with the residence permit to visit children application?

1. A personally signed and fully completed application form

2. Passport with a validity that exceeds that of the visa by three months

3. Two photographs- on white background

4. Original invitation from family or friends in Norway, written in Norwegian or English

5. Original “Garantiskjema for besøk” which states the obligation of the inviting party to bear the cost of stay-

6. Original “Bostedsattest” of the inviting party.

7. Invitee’s confirmed passport photocopy

8. The applicants family book and its english translation

9. An original or certified copy of the proof of ownership of real estate -house or apartment- if available

10. For children under 18, the authorization of the parents to travel abroad

11. For civil servants and employees in the public sector:

-          Official letter of leave from the employer for the duration of stay

-          Official ID card of the government agency

12. For employees in the private sector, a certificate of employment and official leave of absence from the employer for the duration of stay,  SSK details and last months payrolls

13. For self-employed applicants, original or certified copy of taxation certificate- Vergi Levhasi and original or certified copy of trade registry gazette

14. For farmers:

-          Original or certified copy of the farmers certificate issued by the local chamber of agriculture

-          Proof of ownership or rent of the fields used for agriculture

-          Original or certified copy of land deed or house and/or apartment- if available

15. For retirees:

-          ID card

-          Salary documents

-          Original or certified copy of land deed/house deed

16. For students:

-          Students certificate by the school or university and the English translation of the certificate

-          Proof of means of subsistence by parents

17. For housewives, the original documents of the income of the husband

 

Please note that if you are visiting family in Norway, you must document that you in fact are related.

 

All the documents should be submitted with an English or Norwegian translation.

Please note that the Embassy has the right to ask for any additional documents, any originals or any additional translations.
